Title:

New OSHA Compliance Rules For Incentive & Disciplinary Programs

Date / Time: Recorded
Format: Audio Conference
Description:

New OSHA Compliance Rules For Incentive & Disciplinary Programs
OSHA views as suspect any incentive or disciplinary programs linked to worker accidents resulting in injury or illness. In addition, OSHA may prosecute employers whose programs violate worker whistleblower rights under Section 11(c) of the Occupational Safety & Health Act of 1970.

So...in March 2012, OSHA released a new enforcement memo on "Employer Safety Incentive and Disincentive Policies and Practices".

This is a result, in part, of OSHA enforcement under its Recordkeeping National Emphasis Program in which it scrutinized incentive and worker disciplinary policies of targeted employers.

This 90-minute training session not only brings you up-to-speed on the new rules, but provides guidance for staying out of trouble!

Learning Objectives:
  • Overview of OSHA's new enforcement position concerning incentive programs
  • How disciplinary programs can have a chilling effect on reporting injuries/illnesses, placing an employer at risk of citations and penalties
  • How to tell if you’re open to a Section 11(c) "whistleblower protection" lawsuit
  • An overview of the legal consequences you could face if OSHA sues for underreporting of injuries/illnesses, or under the whistleblower protections clauses of the OSHA Act
  • Why incentive and disciplinary programs work … and when they don't
  • How to construct legally sound disciplinary and incentive programs to enhance workplace safety

Cannot Attend The Live Presentation?

This presentation is also available in a recorded format, in On-Demand Or CD versions, as shown in the pricing options below.
About Webcasts / Audio Conferences / Podcasts: Webcasts, audio conferences, and podcasts are presentations that you attend via the Internet, phone, or mobile device at a specified date and time for "live" versions, or at your convenience for "recorded" and "On-Demand" versions.

The live versions are interactive, meaning that participants can ask questions in real time, plus are a very cost-effective form of training because 1) you receive fast, convenient learning without any out-of-office time; 2) you can invite as many colleagues as you'd like to listen in on a single phone line; 3) you incur no travel expenses; and 4) you and your colleagues are back at work immediately after the session ends!

And though with recorded versions you do lose the ability to ask questions, you gain the ability to hear the presentation numerous times and to share it with others in your office.

Handout materials and the phone number for live presentations are made available to you prior to the event via email from the presenter and from the "MyAccount" link on the menu bar. Copies of the presentations are included with recorded versions.
