SOX Rules For Payroll

Learn Your SOX Compliance Requirements For Payroll

This course – taught by and ex-payroll auditor - covers the payroll and benefit areas that are most likely to come under scrutiny due to the Sarbanes Oxley Act (SOX) Act.

SOX law has far-reaching implications affecting all corporate functions - including payroll - so it is wise to increase internal controls over those parts of payroll operations which have the most profound effects to your company.

If not, SOX law authorizes both civil and criminal penalties for corporate officers and managers responsible for non-compliance.

Learning Objectives: SOX Compliance Requirements For Payroll

This course helps identify which payroll and benefit expenses are most likely to come under scrutiny due to SOX law. It also makes recommendations on how to conduct internal audits designed to test controls over these areas, and ensure the results are adequately represented on corporate financial statements.

You'll also learn your SOX compliance requirements, such as how documentation, testing, reporting, and monitoring can ensure ongoing compliance with the Act, letting you and your upper management sleep better at night.

  • The Sarbanes Oxley Act's purpose and key provisions
  • How the Act relates to the payroll function
  • What specifically the payroll department must do to promote compliance with the Act
  • The Internal Audit function and its part in the compliance process
  • Ongoing IA activities to help maintain payroll department compliance with the Act

Cannot Attend The Live Presentation?

This presentation is also available in a recorded format, in On-Demand Or CD versions, as shown in the pricing options below.

About Webcasts / Audio Conferences / Podcasts:

Webcasts, audio conferences, and podcasts are presentations that you attend via the Internet, phone, or mobile device at a specified date and time for "live" versions, or at your convenience for "recorded" and "On-Demand" versions.

The live versions are interactive, meaning that participants can ask questions in real time, plus are a very cost-effective form of training because 1) you receive fast, convenient learning without any out-of-office time; 2) you can invite as many colleagues as you'd like to listen in on a single phone line; 3) you incur no travel expenses; and 4) you and your colleagues are back at work immediately after the session ends!

And though with recorded versions you do lose the ability to ask questions, you gain the ability to hear the presentation numerous times and to share it with others in your office.

Handout materials and the phone number for live presentations are made available to you prior to the event via email from the presenter and from the "MyAccount" link on the menu bar. Copies of the presentations are included with recorded versions.
