Reducing Human Error: Processes And Strategies That Get To The “Root” Of The Problem
|Date / Time:
Companies in the U.S. lose an estimated $3.6 million daily due to human error, which translates into more than $1 billion annually…and this estimate may be on the low side! Additionally, approximately 95 percent of human errors are due to the design of a company's systems.
In order to begin to address these human error events, one of the most critical components for success is to establish an investigation process that clearly identifies the root causes, including both internal variables (such as attitude and attention) and external variables – including training, equipment design, and work instructions.
- Why understanding "human error" is really more about understanding "human behavior"
- A clear, complete and comprehensive working definition of "human error" - and why this definition is critical for success
- What needs to be included in a comprehensive human factors investigation and evaluation process
- The most important internal and external variables - most of which are usually missed in a typical investigation
- A complete rundown of critical human factor variable categories - including procedures, human factors, training, supervision, communication, and more
- Proven approaches for effectively training both new and veteran employees
- A proven 6-step process for maintaining effective systems over the long haul
- How to track, trend, and monitor your systems for continued success

This presentation is also available in a recorded format, in CD version, as shown in the pricing options below.
|About Webcasts / Audio Conferences / Podcasts:|
Webcasts, audio conferences, and podcasts are presentations that you
attend via the Internet, phone, or mobile device at a specified date and time for "live" versions, or at your convenience for "recorded" and "On-Demand" versions.
versions are interactive, meaning that participants can ask questions in real time, plus are a very cost-effective form of training because 1) you receive fast, convenient learning without
any out-of-office time; 2) you can invite as many colleagues as you'd like to listen in on a single phone line; 3) you incur no travel expenses; and 4) you and your colleagues are back
at work immediately after the session ends!
And though with recorded versions you do lose the ability to ask questions, you gain the ability to hear the presentation numerous
times and to share it with others in your office.
Handout materials and the phone number for live presentations are made available to you prior to the event via email from the
presenter and from the "MyAccount" link on the menu bar. Copies of the presentations are included with recorded versions.
