Prioritizing Risks At Work: How To Best Allocate Resources To Protect Workers And Your Bottom Line
|Date / Time:
Human perceptions of risk are notoriously inaccurate. For instance, we all know that our chances of dying in an airplane crash are far lower than our chances of dying in a car crash – yet many of us fear the plane trip to a much greater extent.
These misconceptions unfortunately carry over to the workplace in dangerous ways. Employees are willing to take many chances that expose them to unacceptable risk, and even experienced safety professionals can be prone to misjudging risks, particularly after they become familiar with their specific task or industry.
Join us for an in-depth webinar that explores the broad implications of inaccurate risk assessments in the workplace. Our expert will explain how to effectively prioritize corrective measures, using traditional risk matrices in conjunction with a cost-benefit analysis.
You and your colleagues will learn:
- Why risks in the workplace are often misperceived, even by seasoned professionals
- How to calculate the bottom-line cost of various risk-reduction strategies
- What a model health &safety exposure risk assessment process looks like
- The key components - assessment, quantification, prioritizations, and correction – that need to be considered
- Case studies of risk assessment best practices that have been successfully implemented by others
- Common pitfalls that need to be avoided
- How to structure your program to assure a high level of commitment by senior management
- The best way to turn raw data into effective change
