Workplace Safety 2013: Get Prepared And Avoid Costly Citations
|Date / Time:
In 2012, a few common – and preventable – workplace safety violations tripped up employers over and over: OSHA issued:
- 7,250 violations relating to fall protection
- 4,696 violations relating to hazcom
- 3,814 violations relating to scaffolding
Was your organization among those fined? If not, you may have just gotten lucky, as far too many workplaces make the very same costly missteps over and over. Penalties range from a few thousand dollars to hundreds of thousands of dollars in some cases. Plus, if a violation is found to be "willful," penalties could be significantly magnified.
The beginning of a new year is a perfect time to audit your workplace for safety compliance and fix any problems – before they come to the attention of OSHA (or, worse still, cause a disastrous accident).
Join us for an in-depth webinar where you'll learn:
- What you need to focus on first, via a comprehensive "2013 and beyond" overview
- The key areas OSHA will be focusing on in 2013, including a push for mandatory injury &illness prevention programs at most U.S. workplaces
- Best practices for safety self-audits that can keep you out of OSHA's spotlight
- What to do if you get that dreaded "knock at the door" from an OSHA inspector
- Why OSHA is taking a closer look at heat stress and fall prevention – and what this means for you
- Your obligations under stricter injury and illness reporting obligations
- New rules for confined spaces at construction sites
- The key third parties – including NGOs and industry groups – that will be involved in advancing particular safety agendas in 2013
- The consequences of recent OSHA-related legal decisions
- New areas of enforcement activity: Ignore them at your peril

|About Webcasts / Audio Conferences / Podcasts:|
Webcasts, audio conferences, and podcasts are presentations that you
attend via the Internet, phone, or mobile device at a specified date and time for "live" versions, or at your convenience for "recorded" and "On-Demand" versions.
versions are interactive, meaning that participants can ask questions in real time, plus are a very cost-effective form of training because 1) you receive fast, convenient learning without
any out-of-office time; 2) you can invite as many colleagues as you'd like to listen in on a single phone line; 3) you incur no travel expenses; and 4) you and your colleagues are back
at work immediately after the session ends!
And though with recorded versions you do lose the ability to ask questions, you gain the ability to hear the presentation numerous
times and to share it with others in your office.
Handout materials and the phone number for live presentations are made available to you prior to the event via email from the
presenter and from the "MyAccount" link on the menu bar. Copies of the presentations are included with recorded versions.
