Starting Pay: Smart Strategies For Setting Job Candidates' New Pay Rates

Setting smart starting salaries for job candidates is a tricky two-step for both HR and the potential employees.

Offer too low, and you risk either the candidate turning you down or accepting but being unhappy quickly. Offer too high, and you're locked into higher annual raises. So how do you find the right number?

Finding the right starting salary numbers is critical for the health of your organization. These are numbers that both you and your employees need to live with for awhile. The right number is also key to attracting–and retaining–top talent.

By participating in our interactive webinar, you'll learn how to create a sound strategy for setting smart starting salaries. You'll also learn how to address what you're doing right now so that you have flexibility for growth in the future.

Learning Objectives:

  • Current trends in starting salaries and what you should and shouldn't pay attention to
  • Tips for reviewing your starting salary ranges and communicating that to executives
  • Hiring for those "hot" jobs–strategies for success
  • Using salary surveys to ensure that you're competitive for 2014 and beyond
  • Ways to have the starting salary conversation that engages, not alienates, potential candidates
  • How to talk salaries with your hiring managers, and defend proper ranges when they think numbers should be much higher or lower
  • How to develop a system for a regular, comprehensive review of your compensation system
  • And much more!
In just 90 minutes, you'll learn how to set smart, effective starting salaries that work with the market and attract top talent. Register now for this informative event for HR professionals.

This presentation is also available in a recorded format, in CD version, as shown in the pricing options below.

About Webcasts / Audio Conferences / Podcasts:

Webcasts, audio conferences, and podcasts are presentations that you attend via the Internet, phone, or mobile device at a specified date and time for "live" versions, or at your convenience for "recorded" and "On-Demand" versions.

The live versions are interactive, meaning that participants can ask questions in real time, plus are a very cost-effective form of training because 1) you receive fast, convenient learning without any out-of-office time; 2) you can invite as many colleagues as you'd like to listen in on a single phone line; 3) you incur no travel expenses; and 4) you and your colleagues are back at work immediately after the session ends!

And though with recorded versions you do lose the ability to ask questions, you gain the ability to hear the presentation numerous times and to share it with others in your office.

Handout materials and the phone number for live presentations are made available to you prior to the event via email from the presenter and from the "MyAccount" link on the menu bar. Copies of the presentations are included with recorded versions.
