About Your Presenters
Carla Gunnin of Jackson Lewis has a national practice primarily focused on labor relations matters and occupational safety and health issues. She litigates cases before federal and state administrative tribunals throughout the United States in matters of Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) law and Mine Safety and Health (MSHA) law and has a strategic advantage in representing employers in OSHA, MSHA, and United States Department of Labor (DOL) matters, using her prior experience as a trial attorney for the DOL. Since going into private practice, Gunnin has successfully handled OSHA matters involving egregious citations, willful citations, fatality-related citations and complex multi-employer worksite issues. In addition, she has represented employers in a wide variety of DOL issues.
Brian Hendrix of Jackson Lewis advises clients on matters involving environmental, health, and safety law, focusing on litigation, incident investigations, enforcement defense and regulatory compliance counseling. He has extensive experience with federal and state agencies and has represented a host of clients engaged in a wide variety of manufacturing, production, extraction and service-related industries. His practice often requires his immediate response to catastrophic events, accidents, complaints, and “whistleblower” claims in order to provide his clients with real-time advice for managing and minimizing their civil and criminal liability.
Hendrix has practiced before OSHA, MSHA, BATFE, DOT and the EPA, as well as state and federal trial and appellate courts around the country. In addition to litigation and enforcement matters, he spends considerable time counseling clients on regulatory compliance, products liability and federal permitting/licensing, particularly explosives permitting/licensing and has extensive experience with administrative rulemaking and legislative strategies.
