HR As A Strategic Business Partner: How To Achieve Accelerated Transformation From Within
|Date / Time:
Having trouble getting traction with your interest in developing and updating HR business processes, and taking your place in the management inner circle? You're not alone!
A October 2015 survey of almost 1,000 HR professionals entitled "Your HR Department" shows that only 1/3 of management teams view HR as a strategic partner. But it doesn't have to be that way.
It's time for HR to focus on its own transformation and foster the business changes needed for the organization. But how do you go about doing that?
Join us to learn an exciting and proven process for bringing HR to the forefront with a thorough, strategic review of how to assess and improve your key functions. Our presenter will provide the tools to think critically and strategically in redoing processes so they work most effectively in today's workplace.
And much more!
- Who to talk to, and the questions to ask, to do a quick assessment on the current state of your HR department
- How to identify the organizational obstacles to HR's success and overcome them
- Why it's important to construct some kind of visual representation of HR's goals
- How to rally the whole organization around the why - not the what
- How to diligently manage what you're doing as well as what people think you are doing
- How to make your self-awareness and personal sense of clarity an agent of transformation
Too often, HR processes remain because they've always been that way, not necessarily because they are the most effective. But in our fast-moving business environment, this mode of thinking is no longer acceptable. It's time to proactively pursue change in your department and become the business partner both you and your company deserve.
About Your Speaker:
Nikki Jackson has been regarded by many as the "HR Transformation Queen" for successfully transforming two public-sector HR departments into strategic business partners.
By creating a cross-functional team of internal consultants, promulgating a strong sense of role clarity and guiding principles, aligning stakeholders around common strategic goals, and inviting media and public scrutiny, the two HR departments—the state of Kentucky and Maricopa Community Colleges—have moved from antiquated HR organizations into ones where innovation, transformation, cultural challenge, and modernization are key hallmarks.
Ms. Jackson was previously cabinet secretary for personnel for the state of Kentucky and vice chancellor for human resources for Maricopa Community Colleges, the largest community college system in the country. As the owner of Nikki Jackson Consulting, she is dedicated to transforming organizations, one HR department at a time.
