ACA Form 1094C And 1095: How To Prepare For Form Filing Deadline Of March 31, 2017

SKU:WC-1023558
Date / Time: Recorded
Format: Webinar
Description:

Alert: 2016 filing deadlines for Forms 1094-C and 1095-C are just around the corner. And with the elimination of the IRS’s “good faith” filing standard this year, it’s more important than ever to get the process right.

Fortunately, the IRS has delayed the furnishing of 2016 1095s to recipients until March 2, but that still does not leave much time. Given the complex questions that often arise when employers complete their forms, it’s important to untangle these confusing reporting requirements to alleviate stress and compliance issues.

You may be wondering about any or all of the following:

  • Are you required to fill out the 1095-C at all?
  • If so, when and what are you required to report?
  • How do the reporting requirements vary if you are fully insured vs. self-insured?
  • How do you account for employees who are offered health coverage but decline it?
  • Who is required to report if you sponsor a plan for employees of multiple employers?
  • Can you get a filing extension?
  • What are the penalties if you mess up the reporting?
  • How do you account for retirees and COBRA recipients on the 1095-C?
  • What about multiple members of the same family who are all full-time employees with you—and all received offers of coverage?
  • What do you do if you can’t get dependents’ Social Security Numbers—and how often are you required (or allowed) to ask for them?
Get the answers to these questions and more from this widely popular webinar delivered by seasoned employee benefits attorney Ashley Gillihan and help you meet the March 31, 2017 ACA filing deadline with confidence.

Note: This webinar assumes an intermediate to advanced level of familiarity with ACA reporting and the B-series and C-series forms.

Learning Objectives:
  • Your organization’s information reporting requirements under the ACA
  • Penalties to watch out for under Section’s 6055 and 6056 of the IRS Code
  • How to ensure proper distribution and filing to avoid information-reporting penalties
  • The top 3 challenges first-year reporting presented—and how to overcome those for 2016 reporting
  • Common ACA reporting traps and pitfalls to avoid
  • And much more!

About Webcasts / Audio Conferences / Podcasts:

Webcasts, audio conferences, and podcasts are presentations that you attend via the Internet, phone, or mobile device at a specified date and time for "live" versions, or at your convenience for "recorded" and "On-Demand" versions.

The live versions are interactive, meaning that participants can ask questions in real time, plus are a very cost-effective form of training because 1) you receive fast, convenient learning without any out-of-office time; 2) you can invite as many colleagues as you'd like to listen in on a single phone line; 3) you incur no travel expenses; and 4) you and your colleagues are back at work immediately after the session ends!

And though with recorded versions you do lose the ability to ask questions, you gain the ability to hear the presentation numerous times and to share it with others in your office.

Handout materials and the phone number for live presentations are made available to you prior to the event via email from the presenter and from the "MyAccount" link on the menu bar. Copies of the presentations are included with recorded versions.
