Description:

A recent survey by Willis Towers Watson revealed that many organizations are using voluntary benefits to address the needs of their employees in an era of increasing deductibles and costs in the post ACA world.

Ninety-two percent of surveyed U.S. employers said voluntary benefits and services (VBS) will be an important piece of their employee value proposition over the next five years.

In addition to traditional voluntary benefits such as supplemental life, retiree life, and dental insurance, there are now additional offerings available to employees: identity theft protection, student loan repayment programs, critical illness insurance, accident insurance, and even pet insurance, to name just a few.

Join us to discover which VBS are most popular right now and which ones are gaining in popularity. Presenter Karl Ahlrichs will explain whether your voluntary benefit offerings are exempt under ERISA voluntary plan safe harbor rules.

In addition, you’ll learn:

  • Why VBS are becoming increasingly important to workplaces around the country
  • How VBS can improve company culture and help attract and retain top talent
  • How to use VBS to compete in a competitive marketplace
  • Which benefits are most in demand for particular demographics (Boomers, Millennials, etc.)
  • How much time you should allow to set up new voluntary benefits options
  • How employees can purchase benefits through payroll deductions
  • Requirements that must be met for voluntary benefits to be exempt under ERISA’s voluntary plan safe harbor rules

About Webcasts / Audio Conferences / Podcasts:

Webcasts, audio conferences, and podcasts are presentations that you attend via the Internet, phone, or mobile device at a specified date and time for "live" versions, or at your convenience for "recorded" and "On-Demand" versions.

The live versions are interactive, meaning that participants can ask questions in real time, plus are a very cost-effective form of training because 1) you receive fast, convenient learning without any out-of-office time; 2) you can invite as many colleagues as you'd like to listen in on a single phone line; 3) you incur no travel expenses; and 4) you and your colleagues are back at work immediately after the session ends!

And though with recorded versions you do lose the ability to ask questions, you gain the ability to hear the presentation numerous times and to share it with others in your office.

Handout materials and the phone number for live presentations are made available to you prior to the event via email from the presenter and from the "MyAccount" link on the menu bar. Copies of the presentations are included with recorded versions.
