Description:

Immediately after an accident occurs, once first aid has been administered and all injured parties have been attended to, your next step should be to begin conducting an incident investigation.

It’s important to explain to your employees that the purpose of the investigation is not to find fault, but to find out what happened and understand how can be prevented in the future. Too often during a rushed investigation, investigators jump to conclusions about workers or situations, leading to the true cause of the accident not being addressed and, as a result, causing legal liability for the company.

Join us for an in-depth webinar led by Attorney Edwin G. Foulke, Jr., a partner with the national law firm of Fisher Phillips LLP and co-chair of the Workplace and Catastrophe Management Practice Group. He will discuss the steps involved in a comprehensive incident investigation, and factors to consider that will aid in preventing a reoccurrence. Register now to learn how to correctly handle an accident investigation which gets to the true root cause of the accident and successfully manage interactions with governmental agencies and the media while conducting your investigation!

You’ll learn:

  • The proper steps to conducting a comprehensive and efficient incident investigation
  • What to include in the incident documentation
  • How to analyze reports to determine a cause of an accident and communicate next steps with employees
  • How to identify other contributing factors
  • How to identify patterns and prevent repeat incidents from occurring
  • How to deal with outside governmental agencies, the media, and trial lawyers

This presentation is also available in a recorded format, in On-Demand version, as shown in the pricing options below.

About Webcasts / Audio Conferences / Podcasts:

Webcasts, audio conferences, and podcasts are presentations that you attend via the Internet, phone, or mobile device at a specified date and time for "live" versions, or at your convenience for "recorded" and "On-Demand" versions.

The live versions are interactive, meaning that participants can ask questions in real time, plus are a very cost-effective form of training because 1) you receive fast, convenient learning without any out-of-office time; 2) you can invite as many colleagues as you'd like to listen in on a single phone line; 3) you incur no travel expenses; and 4) you and your colleagues are back at work immediately after the session ends!

And though with recorded versions you do lose the ability to ask questions, you gain the ability to hear the presentation numerous times and to share it with others in your office.

Handout materials and the phone number for live presentations are made available to you prior to the event via email from the presenter and from the "MyAccount" link on the menu bar. Copies of the presentations are included with recorded versions.
