OFCCP/EEOC Update For Federal Contractors: Strategies For Ensuring Compliance With Section 503 And New EEOC Initiatives
2015 ushers in an unprecedented number of new obligations for federal contractors, ranging from self-identification for disabled applicants to new guidelines for pregnant employees – each raising the prospect of new and more numerous accommodation requests.
In addition to understanding the breadth and nature of the accommodations required, contractors must also observe criminal background check criteria and assure non-discrimination for protected applicants and employees so they can avoid Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) scrutiny.
Join us on for essential strategies and practical responses to the new demands you face as a result of recently issued OFFCP regulations and EEOC guidelines.
About Your Presenter:
- What is now considered a disability — and why it doesn’t matter if the disability can be mitigated with medicine
- When a normal pregnancy merits an accommodation – and what accommodations must be offered
- What courts consider a “reasonable accommodation” — and, if you don’t have the capacity to provide an accommodation, how to demonstrate that it poses an undue hardship
- What creates the employer’s obligation to interact with employees about reasonable accommodation — and what that interaction must include
- What accommodations you must provide—examples such as additional leave, modified duties, reassignment, a modified work schedule, or a transfer will be discussed
