About This Course:
Employers often permit their employees to pay for some of their welfare benefits on a pre-tax basis or to make pre-tax contributions to health and dependent care spending accounts.

However, many do not know about the cafeteria plan requirements that must be satisfied to permit these pre-tax reductions in compensation. They also are often unaware of the pace at which those cafeteria plan rules are changing in response to federal legislative and judicial action.

Not understanding the cafeteria plan rules can lead to adverse tax consequences for both the employer and their employees.

This webinar will help persons responsible for cafeteria plan administration and compliance understand the foundational requirements applicable to every cafeteria plan and inform them of how the landscape is rapidly changing.

It also will provide employers tools to help them ensure that their cafeteria plan design, documentation, and administration are in compliance with applicable requirements. The webinar will also explore design choices cafeteria plan sponsors can consider within the regulatory framework established by the IRS. You will leave with the information you need to decide what if any changes to make in response to the rapidly changing landscape of cafeteria plan benefits.
