Our SHRM Exam Prep Class is designed to help prepare you to earn your SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification.

With only 60% of people passing, we know the certification exam is tough, so we're here to help you prepare. Our class combines expert instructor-led training with the full SHRM Learning System to help prepare you to pass your CP or SCP exam.

Specifically, the course content includes the full, four-module SHRM Learning System, covering the entire SHRM Body of Competency and Knowledge (BoCK); namely:

• Workplace

How The SHRM Exam Prep Class Works

We have divided the training program into 14 sessions, so the process for training is fairly simple: you study the assigned portion of the SHRM Learning System independently, then attend the training session via the Internet or telephone from your home or office.

During each session, your instructor teaches the materials for that session and answers questions (and yes, you can email questions to your Instructor prior to each session).

Time in the class sessions is spent reviewing the portion of the SHRM Learning System that is assigned for that week, working through sample exam questions, test-taking tips and strategies specific to these exams, and more. In essence, the program is designed to enhance learning and help prepare you for the exam.

For your convenience, the live sessions are recorded, so students can catch up if it's necessary to miss a live class or re-listen to sessions during the current term to help reinforce the information. Communication with the instructor is encouraged throughout the term; participants are welcome to reach out to the instructor via email or phone between class sessions with questions or comments.

• What are the class-specific activities?
  Classroom time includes live instruction from your expert instructor where you review content from the SHRM Learning System, as well as work through sample exam questions, test-taking tips, and strategies specific to these exams. Best of all, participants are able to ask questions throughout class.
• Please tell me about the homework assignments
  Homework assignments focus on key learning issues for both your job and the exam. Essentially, your "home" work consists of reading, working though, and studying the SHRM Learning system, as well as completing periodic homework assignments that the instructor will review and return to you - with individualized feedback.
• Is the Instructor available outside of class hours?
  Yes! You are welcome to email your Instructor with questions related to the course or exam preparation throughout the class and the adjacent exam window.
• How do I access the 'classroom' portion?
  Once you register, your Instructor will email you login information, the class syllabus, and other class materials.
• Are the training sessions recorded so I can re-listen to key points?
  Yes, each session is recorded. Recorded versions are available up to the week of the adjacent exam window. For instance, for the class running January - May 2019, recordings will be available through July 15, 2019 (which is the last day of the exam window that opens during the class session).
• Must I attend every training session?
  Though you should attend each of the 14 sessions, attendance at all is not required (remember, you can listen to the recorded versions).
• Is the SHRM Learning System included in my class fee or do I have to purchase it separately?
  The SHRM Learning System is included in your tuition fee, and will be mailed to you upon receipt of your paid order.
• Do I have to have a current SHRM Learning System to attend the class?
  Yes, as the course is taught using proprietary SHRM Learning System materials, all participants must have one. It is included with your class tuition fee.
• How long is the SHRM Learning System valid?
  The printed portion of the SHRM Learning System is yours to keep. You will have access to the online portion of the Learning System for 18 months.
• Is the cost of the SHRM exam included in my class fee?
  The cost of the exam itself is not included in the class; you are responsible for registering for the exam yourself. Tips for doing so will be discussed in class. Registration deadline: In order to receive your SHRM Learning System prior to the first class session, please finalize your registration by January 15.

About Your Instructor

The class is taught by Mary Gormandy White, M.A., SHRM-SCP, SPHR, who is a long-time SHRM member and volunteer and a principal of MTI Business Solutions.

Mary is an experienced professional trainer with significant experience teaching certification prep courses, and has taught SHRM-CP/SCP classes since the certification program was introduced.

She also has extensive HR training and consulting experience, including teaching SPHR/PHR certification prep courses and HR Generalist, Strategic HR Leadership, and Internal Investigations certificate programs for HR Training Center. Mary also has extensive experience with presenting webinars on a regular basis for a number of national and international webinar companies and private clients.
