    This module provides an introduction to the elements of a compensable claim, and outlines the timeframes within which the Claimant and Insurance Carrier (on behalf of the employer) must file reports and respond to the initiation of the claim.

    You will then learn the key elements of the investigation of the compensability of the claim and the documents that must be filed in response.

  • Introduction to Benefit Status, Calculating Benefit Rates, and Changing the Benefit Status of the Claimant

    This module briefly reviews the elements of a compensable claim, and introduces the concepts of Total and Partial Disability. You will learn the basics for calculating the Average Weekly Wage, and will be introduced the Bureau Documents and administrative processes for initiating a change in benefit status.

  • Advanced Issues in Investigation and Acceptance of the Claim for Benefits and the Proper Use of Bureau Form

    This module will provide you with a detailed understanding of the statutory and administrative mandates for investigation and acceptance of the claim as well as a review of case law that impacts the Insurance Carrier's exposure to penalties and fees for unreasonable contest of a claim.

    You will gain insight into how to appropriately issue documents so as to avoid these unnecessary costs while investigating the compensability of a claim.

  • Exam

    An exam is included in the Pennsylvania Workers' Compensation Series. It consists of 50 questions with a 90 minute time period. You must first take the Pennsylvania Workers' Compensation Series training modules before taking this exam. You will have one attempt to pass this exam with a passing score of 70% or higher.
